Crafter’s Challenge: Follow-up

Well, it’s been 12 days since I wrote “Crafter’s Challenge: What’s in Your Closet?” and, after pulling out some old, vintage magazines and coming across a baggy of saved soda bottle caps, I came up with something. I have never made bottle cap magnets, until now. I didn’t do these graphics from a printer, though, as I saw in the majority of online tutorials.

Instead, I cut out clippings from vintage magazines and glued them to a vintage “background”, then to a 1″ cardstock circle, then glued that into the bottlecap, (dry time), add a high gloss finish, (more dry time), then added earth magnets to the back.

{ I have to admit, they turned out kind of *amazing* }

Bonnie says, “Yes Rachel, they did turn out rather amazing!   I was motivated to dig through my fabric scraps, and found a piece of fabric from a cut up sweatshirt, and some red Christmas felt, so I decided to create another Ooggie Boogie Monster Doll.   Just in time for Valentine’s Day!  He is ready to spread the love, with his big heart, and a special flower for his Valentine.”

Were you inspired?
What did YOU come up with?

I haven’t done a Spotlight for awhile and I was “pouncing” about on Etsy and came across some downright beautiful items. I just wanted to share them with you. Hopefully, you will love the vintage style in which most of these handmade items were created.
