January is usually a time of reflection, which, in turn, usually culminates in letting go of something. Maybe it’s a feeling. Or maybe it’s just about transition and changing the way you view something. Or, still, maybe it’s something of the past that should be left in the past. Whatever it is or was, don’t let it stop you from moving forward.
Better yet, use the past to your advantage.
As crafters or artisans, we all have skeletons in our closets (ugly dolls, old blankets, craft “mistakes”, items we meant to regift, weird colored yarns, saved wrapping, etc). Things from our past that we hoped to renew in some way. My challenge to myself and to everyone out there is to dig way back into your dusty, partially organized closet and pull a few of those items out. It may take some time to come up with a plan of action…but put your creativity cap on and just get to work! Recycle, upcycle, reuse, and refuse to give up! I will be sharing my creation here in the coming weeks, but I’d love to see what you come up with, so please email me your photos at rachel@tlcinspirations.com or upload them to flikr and post your link!
I think we all need a challenge once in awhile: for our minds, our souls, and our sanity. Join in the fun!

What a wonderful challenge! I think we all need to get extra creative at the beginning of the new year and make new items out of our old things.
